Our Formation
Accompanying young women on their journey to Salesian consecrated life
Aspirantate
The Aspirantate is the initial phase of formation where young women who feel called to the FMA vocation are welcomed and accompanied in their discernment. It is a time of spiritual growth, community life, and orientation to the Salesian charism.
Formation Activities:
Prayer life, introduction to Salesian spirituality, apostolic activities, academic studies, and community living.
Postulancy
The Postulancy is a formal period of initial formation preceding the Novitiate. Postulants deepen their knowledge of religious life, the FMA Institute, and the Salesian charism while engaging in apostolic service.
Formation Activities:
Intensive spiritual formation, apostolic work, study of the FMA Constitutions, and community experience.
Novitiate
The Novitiate is the crucial period of formal religious formation in which novices are introduced to religious life in all its dimensions. Under the guidance of the Novice Mistress, novices grow in their understanding and living of the Salesian vocation.
Formation Activities:
Deep prayer life, study of theology and the Rule of Life, apostolic experiences, and progressive integration into community.
Intensive Juniorate
The Juniorate follows the First Profession and is a period of continued formation for young Sisters (Juniors). It is a time of integration, deepening the Salesian charism in apostolic life, and ongoing theological and spiritual formation.
Formation Activities:
Theological studies, apostolic mission, spiritual accompaniment, community life, and preparation for perpetual vows.
