St. Joseph
Patron of the Universal Church

"Go to Joseph."
Patron of the Universal Church
Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ and spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is venerated in the Catholic Church as the Patron of the Universal Church, workers, and families. He is invoked as the Guardian of the Holy Family and a model of humble, faithful service.
In the Salesian tradition, Don Bosco had great devotion to Saint Joseph, seeing in him the model of the educator—one who guides, protects, and works with hands and heart for those entrusted to his care. The FMA Province of Mater Ecclesiae honors Saint Joseph as a patron, drawing inspiration from his silent fidelity, his laborious charity, and his protective love.
