The Province of Mater Ecclesiae celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 24 February 2025, marking 25 years of growth from 22 presences to 41 houses and 313 Sisters across Northeast India.
On 24 February 2025, the Province of Mater Ecclesiae joyfully celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its establishment, marking 25 years of God's abundant blessings and faithful guidance.
The Province was officially erected on 24 February 2000, with Sr Lucy Rose Ozhukayil as its first Provincial. At the time of its erection, the newly established Province had 22 presences and 154 Sisters, serving across the North-Eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland.
Over the past 25 years, the Province has witnessed remarkable growth in its mission, communities and vocations. From its humble beginnings, the Province has grown to 41 houses and 313 Sisters, extending its mission across four North-Eastern states.
This growth reflects the Province's expanding commitment to the education and integral development of children and young people, pastoral ministry, empowerment of women, vocation promotion and service to the marginalised.
With grateful hearts, the Province acknowledges God's abundant blessings and providence throughout these 25 years.
